All trash should go in these large, drive through, green bins. They are marked as Trash.
Recyclables should go in these green, drive through bins. It is marked as Recyclables. You should only put things that can be recycled into the bin!
Things that you should NOT put in the recycling:
- PLASTIC BAGS (There is a separate black container below the sign specifically for thin plastics, like plastic bags.)
- Styrofoam
- Hazardous materials, like pressurized containers, batteries, or chemicals.
Everything in this bin goes to the Waste Management Recycling facility.
The compost bins are fairly new to the Boxborough Transfer Station. These bins aim to reduce the amount of food waste that goes into the trash stream. When composting be sure that:

Put all wood products here. Please make sure that the wood is clean.
Only large metals should be put here. Things like tin cans or soda cans can be put in the recycling, but anything large has to be put here.
Appliances can be left in this area, which is just past the collection bins for other items.
All mattresses can be dropped off here. Be sure that there are no springs in the mattress.
Please leave all old or dead batteries here. Batteries are hazardous materials, and should not be put in the recycling or trash.
Please dispose of electronics and screens here. Do not put CRTs/Electronics in the trash of recycling.
